The Bible says that Satan is the one who has the means to cause death, not Adam and not God. If God allowed Satan (infinately more experienced than Adam or Eve) to trick Eve and tempt Adam to disobey, it was not a fair situation.
Some of the apocrophyl books fill in the gaps left in the book of Genesis and other parts of the Bible. In the end, though, much remains hidden from our understanding.
I find it hard to take Genesis in a total literal understanding.
this may not be a forever goodbye, but its certainly a goodbye to this stage of my life because i need to make real progress instead of just talking about it.

i think with my current situation, having a son and having a family that requires my attention it would be wise for me to move on in some shape or form, because i dont want the negativity of the watchtower society to rub off on my son and give him any of the grief and worries i had when i was growing up.

i felt that the parents were genuine in their pleas for madelines return, however this mornings news has left me stunned.. .
Until we find out what all the evidence is that the police have against the parents, there is no way to know if the suspicion of the parents in their daughter's death is warrented. It is horrible to treat an innocent person with mistrust, however. They must question the parents because too many times close relatives are involved in deaths, but they need to do it in a fair manner.
The fact that they left 3 very young children alone in a strange country while they went out to eat is extremely negligent. No fit parent would consider such a thing. I am surprised that the other children were not removed from their care. I think in the US, they would have been.
I am very sorry their daughter is missing and I hope she is found alive. If they had nothing to do with it, they must be beating themselves up for their poor judgment.
Did they say that every parent leaves their children alone at some time? If they said that, I wonder more about them.

Sorry for the bad experiences that you have endured. It's hard enough to grow up with these outsiders (elders) sticking their nose in where they doesn't belong. You should have been dealing with your parents only. The others don't need to know squat.
Continue to post, as you feel comfortable. You will find many empathetic hearts. I hope you can work your way through the past. Counseling is good-a personal decision, of course.

Thanks for sharing your story with us. I am sorry you have had such a difficult life. Your father should be ashamed of himself for the lack of care he has shown for you. But, as someone said, they are controlled by a merciless cult.
You are a strong person to come as far as you have with such little help. I am so glad you have found someone to love and share your life with. I wish you both the best. Build your own life and create a happy family for yourself. If you feel you need to, see a therapist.
You don't say much about your siblings, except they are not jws. Do you still have contact with them? Will they be at your wedding? Just wondering if you could still count on some of your family.

There are times while growing up that siblings get into disagreements. As a parent, sometimes I would watch a while and give them a chance to settle it by themselves. But if one child went to the point of attempting to physically harm another, that is when I stepped in. That was not allowed.
So, why would God allow a stronger, more experienced creature cause harm to his inexperienced and vulnerable creatures? Satan has been allowed not only to harm Adam and Eve, but billions of others. Make sense? Not to me.
Purps is right that it is a people problem. as we choose to continue on in the insanity on this earth today. We need to do better.

Even if you went with the jws on the needing to prove mankind can't rule themselves without God (which I don't), enough is enough. How much suffering is necessary?
